Our new puppy Jake

October 3rd, 2006 we will be getting our new puppy Jake... he's an English Springer Spaniel. He was the first born of the litter but he was the runt of the litter... but way too adorable to not want to take him home with us.  Here's a picture of Jake...

We heard about Jake and his litter mates from a former co-worker Olga and decided to go have a look at him.  We decided on the way that if he wasn't what we wanted that he would stay there and we would continue looking elsewhere.  On our way to go see Jake we stopped at PetSmart to look for a crate so that we would be ready to bring him home when the time came.   While we were at PetSmart the local SPCA was having their adoption weekend and I saw a Border Collie that I loved.  JB got to hold him and he was very loveable, he was kissing all the time.  We passed on him as we still had to go see Jake.  We found out later that night that the Border Collie was adopted by someone else so he made out in the end.

When we got to the woman’s house that had Jake we went in to see the dogs and they were pretty active and man could they BITE !!!!!  All of them were biting and nipping and chewing, but they were all cute.  I only wanted to see Jake so once I got the chance to pick him up and hold him he settled down and kissed.  We found out that the veterinarian documented him as being slightly off balance – I think it is because his legs are bigger than he is.  There will be more pictures of him so you can see how he was.  He stayed in my arms for about 15 minutes just chilling and being good and I fell in love with him.  It took us three attempts to find out he was still available and once we found that out we immediately put a deposit on him and made an appointment to stop back and pick him up.

We went to Wal-Mart to get his crate as we found out they were cheaper than PetSmart.  We ended up getting him a crate and two beds for the crate.  He is already getting spoiled rotten.  We got him his leash, collar, harness and toys... now just have to get him food.  I can’t wait to get him home.

JB goes to pick Jake up on October 3rd after work.  We will add more pictures and we will keep you informed with his development and progress.
